$6,500 FINE FOR CATCHING TOO MANY WALLEYE

News Release MNR Lakes Ontario & Erie Enforcement TeamsST. THOMAS— A Port Stanley commercial fisher has been fined $ 6,500 for exceeding the walleye quota on his commercial fishing licence.  Daniel Bastien, 43 a licenced commercial fisher on Lake Erie was convicted for exceeding the assigned walleye quota on his 2007 licence by 5,226 lbs .    (Read on …)

Ontario’s oldest Fly Fishing Shop - GRINDSTONE Angling

I had the pleasure of chatting with John Valk, owner of Ontario’s longest running Fly Fishing Shop, GRINDSTONE Angling.

His shop is located in Waterdown just off the Main Street. It’s as I pictured in my mind with fish mounts on the wall, antique tackle and photos of anglers on the river. Racks of rods and fly fishing items were laid out like a neat fly tackle box. All organized unlike my tackle box! (Read on …)
