Press Release

Mark it on your calender to attend;

The 2009 Spring Fishing & Boat Show continues to strive in bringing new and innovative ideas to the table.  As previously stated the show is truly dedicated to the betterment of Canadian angling and through the support of its media partners, the show is establishing unity within the industry and supporting the growth of recreational angling throughout the nation.<!–more–>

The 2010 Canadian Anglers Summit (“CAS”) will be unveiled at this year’s industry breakfast which takes place Friday February 13, 2009, before show opening.  The Spring Fishing & Boat Show will incorporate CAS as a primary part of the show.  As the International Centre is very well known to the angling community, the new Conference Hall will meet the requirements of a convention of this magnitude.

 New to the Canadian Angler Hall of Fame is the Rick Amsbury Award which will be awarded annually to an individual or a select group of individuals recognized for their commitment and dedication to the industry.

We welcome the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters to the Spring Fishing & Boat Show.  OFHA will be taking part in bringing new dynamics to the show as they have scheduled a “turkey seminar” which will take place on Saturday February 14 at 8:00 am.  The participants of this seminar will be granted free access to the show.

When the new “Family Day” holiday was announced in 2008, the Spring Fishing & Boat Show was given an opportunity to expand its weekend show to include Monday.    It was at this time that PIZZA PIZZA rose to the occasion and sponsored the show with 100 gift certificates for a large pizza to be purchased off site to the first 100 families through the door on Family Day.

It is with great pleasure to announce PIZZA PIZZA will continue this tradition.The Master Angler Seminars brought to you by OUTDOOR CANADA MAGAZINE will be hosted by Gord Pyzer.

The scheduled Master Angler Seminars will include a Master BASS forum on Saturday February 14; the Master WALLEYE forum on Sunday February 15 and the Master MUSKIE forum on Monday February 16.  These seminars will commence at 8:00 am through to 12:00 pm.

The cost to the Master Angler Seminars is $12 which includes admission to the show.  With the introduction of the new Fly Fishing Casting Lanes, the Spring Fishing & Boat Show has partnered with Canadian Fly Fisher Magazine and the Izaak Walton Fly Fishing Club (IWFFC) in educating the art of fly fishing.

Our celebrity guest speakers now include Nick Pujic of Canadian Fly Fisher Magazine who will demonstrate fly fishing on the Mega Tank.  Nick Pujic will also host the Master Angler Fly Fishing forum brought to you by Canadian Fly Fisher Magazine on Monday February 16 at 8:00 am.

The $12.00 admission to the seminar will include entry to the show.We welcome all our new exhibitors including Strike King Lure Company, G-Loomis, Big Jon Sports and Walker Downriggers to name a few.

We also would like to thank LUND BOATS for their generous contribution of an A14 Lund aluminum boat as a draw prize,which will be awarded to the guardian of the lucky young angler at the Fishing Hole.

To those exhibitors confirmed, we wish you a successful show.

For those wishing to participate, please do not hesitate to contact Andrew Pallotta at 416-802-2277 or the main office at 905-640-2277.
