Scent Elimination For Deer Hunters Who Want To Be Odor Free

How many of you have heard that snort wheeze only to realize you were just busted by a buck or doe?

Likely you were busted for one or three reasons, movement, noise, or human scent detection. Or maybe it was a combination of the three!

Who hasn’t been busted?

Of course being busted as your coming to full draw is bad; but when you’re busted 50, 60 or 100 yards away your hunt is over before you even know it.

Watching a deer out of range stomp its hoof , snort and wheeze to finally turn and bound away happens to everyone.

Doe senses danger and stomps hoof

As a hunter you need to avoid detection to have a chance at taking your shot.  Even rifle, muzzle and shotgun hunters have to be aware of scent and movement at those distances.

Sitting still will certainly avoid a deer vision especially when wearing clothing that is silent keeping any stray noise to a minimum. It doesn’t matter if its camo or blaze orange it’s the movement that catches a deer’s predator vision.

Wool, polar fleece or any type of quiet clothing goes a long way to avoid noise made by moving. Silent zippers, snaps and buttons also help reduce noise.

Defeating a deer’s number one defense, it’s nose with close to three million odor receptors isn’t easy. Lets face it; to a deer you STINK and are HIGHLY OFFENSIVE to them!

Scent control starts long before hunting season begins for savvy hunters.

Eliminating or reducing your scent starts within you. Digesting chlorophyll caplets months before your hunt is one way to start the process. Depending on your budget washing you’re hunting clothes with a good scent-neutralizing product or even baking soda in a clean container by hand followed by hanging and air-drying outside them is next.

Season opener begin by showering or bathing with scent free soap on hunting day. Spraying down your entire body with Buck Fever Scent Vanishing Hunter Elimination Spray or wipes before donning your scent reducing hunting pants and top.

I always wear my H.E.C.S. suit as an added layer of preventative detection. It helps defeat that Sixth Sense common with pre animals.

Use scent free clean rubber boots that are used only for hunting. Carry heavy cloths in to avoid sweating when traveling to your stand or ground blind. Spray yourself and equipment again with Vanishing Hunter to continue to remain odor free of human scent before entering the field. Chewing on or sucking on some sort of chlorophyll breathe odor neutralizer or spray your mouth with some Vanishing Hunter

Yes its safe to use internally and will also neutralize breath odor. Don’t try that with other scent eliminator products – YUCK!

When actually hunting keeping the wind in your favor downwind or crosswind from the expected direction of the game you are hunting will add to your odd for success.

Keep noise to absolute minimum if possible and also scan before moving around.

Should you get busted try blowing a grunt or snort call back at the deer, after all you have nothing to loose! Often the deer was just communicating its concern to that unknown noise.

Of course if its looking at you,,,and flees you were defiantly BUSTED!
