O.F.A.H. responds to demand for second women’s outdoor weekend event
Today is registration day for the new spring session of Women’s Outdoor Weekend. The popular
outreach program is designed and hosted exclusively for women by the Ontario Federation of
Anglers and Hunters (O.F.A.H.). The province’s largest conservation-based organization has
added a spring weekend for 2010 to help it meet the huge demand for the only provincial
educational outreach program of its kind.
Women’s Outdoor Weekends are held at the Kinark Outdoor Centre near Minden. The spring
session runs during weekend of Mother’s Day, May 7-9, and is expected to fill quickly. The fall

Canadian Ice Fishing Championship (CIFC) (Feb 20, 21, 2010) 160 anglers gathered to hear the rules for the big event.
They also witnessed the presentation of the 2010 Bill Bond Memorial Award – which was presented to Peter Waring, supervisor of the Lake Simcoe Team for the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR).
The Bill Bond Memorial Award is presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated a
lifelong commitment to conserving and promoting the fishery of Lake Simcoe.

Canadian Angler Hall of Fame 2010

During the 2010 Spring Fishing & Boat Show Canadian Angler Hall of Fame Awards – Andy Pallotta inducted four anglers-  John Kerr, Bruce Park, Angela & Reno Viola. Dave Mercer was presented with the Rick Amsbury Award.
