Practice Often Before The Season Starts

3D Archery a great way to get ready for the bow season

I  had a few hours to go out for a 3D event at the Wild Goose Archery Club in Kingsville this morning,

Met up with a fellow member of the SWOC and her two kids, one who was there to shoot, the other to carry the bino

Danielle Russell the SWOC.ca web master and also her own website EverythingOutdoors.ca was there to tune up for an upcoming moose /deer hunt with hubby Scott .

Hey Greg,,,best wishes on a fast recovery for the eye too!

She had just returned  a week before from an SCI Canada sponsored Bear Hunt, one of 12 ladies participating in the hunt.

More details on that when I speak with John from SCI,

Although Danielle didn’t get her bear she had an awesome time, as did all the ladies.

She even texted me this photo from the tree stand.

Synthetic Bear Juice Attractant

At todays 3D event she shot a decent score, me not so good with a bad miss and too many 5s!!!!

Like I said  “Its’ time to perfect your practice routine before the season starts”

NOW I know my fifty yard pin is way OFF!

Thank fully my 20 -20-40 were good as I  made some decent shots on the deer targets and two thunder chickens!

Thanks to Danielle for sending me the pic, not sure sure I wanted to know my score,,,,,

Too Many Fish Costs Ontario Anglers $2000

Total of $2,000 in Fines for Too Many Fish

MNR NEWS September 8, 2014

Two southern Ontario men have pleaded guilty to possessing an over-limit of walleye.

Garry Wincherook of Metcalfe and Robert Best of Lakefield were each fined $1,000 for possessing nine fish over the legal limit allowed by their sport fishing licences.

The court heard that on June 10, 2014, Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry conservation officers contacted the men during a marine patrol on Chipman Lake, 40 kilometres northeast of Longlac, east of Lake Nipigon. The men said they had a total of five walleye between them, but officers soon discovered they had 11, including six hidden in a pail under their bait bucket. Upon further investigation, officers discovered they had another six walleye at the resort where they were staying. Wincherook and Best had a total of 17 walleye, but the legal limit per sport fishing licence is four in Fisheries Management Zone 7. All of the fish were seized and forfeited to the Crown.

Justice of the Peace Joseph Caron heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Geraldton, on August 26, 2014.

For further information on fishing regulations, please consult the Recreational Fishing Regulations Summary, available at ontario.ca/fishing.

Ohsweken Man Charged For Night Hunting In Ancaster

Fined $1,500 for Illegal Night Hunting Activities

An Ohsweken man has been fined $1,500 for night hunting related offences.

Eugene Patrick Johns was convicted and fined $1,000 for hunting at night and $500 for possessing a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act.

Court heard that on November 18, 2011, Johns was stopped in the evening by a conservation officer on Paddy Greens Road in the former township of Ancaster, in the City of Hamilton. At the time of the stop, Johns was in possession of an unencased, loaded firearm in his motor vehicle. It was determined that he was unlawfully hunting in the area at night.

The case was heard in the Ontario Court of Justice, Hamilton, on September 2, 2014.

Hunters must safely unload and encase firearms in their possession during the period from a half hour after sunset to a half hour before sunrise. The only exception is for licensed night raccoon hunters. It is illegal to possess a loaded firearm in or on a vehicle or motorboat. The public is reminded that laws regarding the use of firearms are in place for public protection and safety.

For further information on hunting regulations, please consult the Hunting Regulations Summary available at ontario.ca/hunting.
