Three Michigan anglers and a Windsor resident have been fined $1,005 for fishing with more than two lines on Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair this summer.
A bench warrant was issued for the arrest of a fourth Michigan angler when he failed to appear in Chatham court.
James Lyons, 46 of Marine City, Michigan, James Schillwe, 52, of Saint Clair Shores, Michigan, and Michel Dufault, 68, of Windsor, Ontario, were each fined$235. Thomas Mayo, 43, of Clay, Michigan, was fined $300. The seized fishing rods will be returned when the fines are paid. Justice of the Peace Maureen Ryan-Brode heard the two cases in the Ontario Court of Justice, Windsor, on September 17. The remaining four cases were heard by Justice of the Peace Calvin Hurst in the Ontario Court of Justice, Chatham on September 18, 2008.
