Canada in the Rough Show is in a transition period. Host Thomas Pigeon has confidence in Beasley Brothers Outdoors Inc. to take over in January 2010.
Filming for the season started off with Thomas and Quentin Motley, the Dream Hunt Winner of the Canada In The Rough Giveaway contest, hunting Tundra caribou in the Northwest Territories with Arctic Safari’s. Thomas and Quentin both took beautiful bulls and the one pictured below grossed in Boone and Crockett!
The Beasley Brothers headed to NW Ontario for a whitetail hunt with Dave and Betty Frankovich of Pickeral Creek Camp. The bucks were on their feet a lot as Kevin and Paul rattled in many nice bucks within easy shooting range. Looking for mature whitetails, 4.5 years old or older, they opted to let them go for another year until finally a mature trophy responded to Paul’s grunt tube presenting an 80-yard shot that Paul could not refuse.
Paul harvested this trophy, he jumped behind the camera and Keith jumped behind the gun and anchored an incredible black timber wolf. The outfitter was thrilled that the boys bought a wolf tag as the number of wolves in that area are extremely high and deer numbers are low.
Thomas was at it again when he headed to Alberta with Billy Franklin of Silver Sage Outfitters and harvested another incredible animal. The folks at Silver Sage have been incredibly consistent at providing phenomenal hunting opportunities. This mule deer is exceptional with height and body size. Thomas made an impressive shot to seal the deal.
The season isn’t over yet. The CIR team hopes to update other hunts featuring the great hunting opportunities available to hunters in this great nation Canada.
The new season, featuring the hunts outlined above, begins airing Sunday, January 4th at 8am on Global and Friday, January 2nd on Wild TV.
