Media Release- Windsor – Hunting Infraction
Two Windsor residents pleaded guilty and were fined a total of $2,000 for their involvement in an illegal deer hunt.
Terenzio Angelini was fined $1,500 for unlawfully hunting deer without the authority of a licence, and Michele Pecoraro was fined $500 for unlawfully possessing illegally killed wildlife. Angelini is not allowed to hunt in Ontario for one year.
The court heard that on October 18, 2012, a Ministry of Natural Resources conservation officer stopped the men as they were transporting a white-tailed deer on Chukuni Road, south of Red Lake. Upon investigation, the officer discovered that Angelini bought a deer hunting licence and antlerless deer game seal earlier that day. After the purchase, he retrieved the deer, which he had shot the evening before and left at the kill site overnight. Angelini’s rifle was seized and will be returned once his fine is paid. The deer was seized and forfeited to the Crown.
