My Deer Steward Certification Course weekend at the Callaway Resort in Pine Mountain Georgia was awesome.

Five QDMA Canuck members made the trip down south to attend the weekend course.

QDMA’s Matt Ross who organized and was one of the top presenters along with Joe Hamilton, Kip Adams, Brian Murphy, DR Karl Miller and John Grunchy.

Topics covered in great detail included the history of deer restoration and management.

Diseases, predators and mortality factors.

Habitat and food requirements for deer.

Timber and vegetation management.

Food plot management.

Deer camera survey techniques.

Harvest date collection and analysis.

Hunter expectations and maximizing success.

A field day at Jeff Foxworthy’s farm “The Beloved” was one of the highlights of the weekend.

Ripple Outdoor will be conducting Property Evaluations and  Game Trail Camera Surveys for a select number of participants.
