Fly Tying Class
Saturday we will be running the first winter session with Tom Crawford teaching a class to tie Atlantic salmon Bombers and Hazels. Tom is one of Grindstone’s professional custom fly tiers and instructors. He will walk the students through the techniques required to spin deer hair properly and shape the bodies to not only create a fly but to have it present properly to Atlantics. It will be a very informative class, please bring a notepad to write down all the information Tom will be sharing with you. For those who need tying tools please let me know in advance so I can have it ready for you. Grindstone will provide all required Materials and Lunch for those who take the class. Please call or e-mail the shop for cost information or to reserve a seat at the table.

Congratulations are also in order to John; on an Atlantic salmon trip in September he landed an Atlantic which is definitely a lifetime achievement and must be close to a record, this great fish was 53” in length with a girth of 28” placing it around 46lbs, Caught on the Grand Cascapedia in Gaspe Quebec. John landed this giant on an 8wt single hand rod and 8Lb tippet and after a little more than 1 hr. and the luck of not making a single mistake, a fish that dreams are made of came to hands of his guide.
