Kudos to Bob Izumi for helping out a fellow angler

Anglers attending the Fishing World Ice Fishing Seminar held on December 8th were in for a surprise. Unfortunately scheduled speaker “Big Jim” McLaughlin had to cancel due to health issues at the last minute.

Big KUDOS go out to fellow professional angler Bob Izumi who is host of his own award winning fishing show REAL FISHING to jump in and help out.

Bob found time in his hectic schedule to “fill in” for Big Jim and talk to the anglers about ice fishing.

It is often said Bob Izumi is Canada’s best know angler.

During Bob’s informal seminar he discussed early season techniques, essential tackle and useful tips.

Both Bob Izumi and Jim McLaughlin are affiliated with well known  Hi-Tech Fishing products.

Door prizes donated by Hi-Tech and Fishing World certainly filled a few Christmas stockings as Bob handed out numerous prizes after the seminar.

Jim Douglas of the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (Binbrook) donated a day pass for the use of one of the ice fishing huts. Thats of course when ice conditions are safe.

I even purchased a new Bob Izumi ice fishing rod to check out for early ice fishing.
Thanks go out to the Mike Jackson & Jim Eastabrooks and all the great staff at Fishing World for this much appreciated free ice fishing seminar.

Special thanks to Bob Izumi for helping out Big Jim on such short notice. Lets all hope Big Jim gets well before Christmas.
