Len Dickinson, President of the Ottawa Valley SCI Chapter and President of SCIF Canada, was appointed by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario to sit on the Ontario Fish and Wildlife Heritage Commission.

The Commission is comprised of 11 members from the hunting and fishing community to provide advice to the Ontario Minister of Natural Resources on fish and wildlife revenue, and expenditures related to the fisheries and wildlife programs. It also provides advice on policy and program direction as requested by the Minister on the promotion of practices that will contribute to recreational and youth participation in hunting and fishing.

Key initiatives are geared toward new opportunities for hunting, fishing and other wildlife activities.

“Safari Club International is all about leadership,” said SCI President Craig Kauffman. “I want to thank Len Dickinson for his hard work and for this great honor that has been bestowed upon him, which helps further the significant and growing influence SCI enjoys in Canada. Around the world, SCI members like Len Dickinson truly are the leaders.”

“I am tremendously honored to accept this position and look forward to working with many of the leaders in the hunting and fishing community of Ontario,” Dickinson said.

Len was born and raised the small village of Ferguson’s Falls, Ontario and as a writer, photographer, and a passionate sportsman, has dedicated most of his life in promoting his hunting heritage and inspiring people to appreciate the beauty that is all around them.

He has received recognition for his volunteer work in promoting hunting, hunter education and the hunting heritage, including the Conservationist of the Year Award, Ontario Hunting Heritage Award, SCI Chapter of the Year Award and the SCI International Chapter of the Year Award as President of his local chapter.
