  1. Larry,

    I’m trying to plan my hunt around the peak of the rut this year. Can you please tell me the peak rut dates for the YO Ranch in Mountain Home, Texas (90 miles west of San Antonio).

    Thanks,

    Dave

    • Hi Dave;

      My calendar shows September 22nd is the fall equinox.
      A full moon on Sept. 23rd and a full moon on Oct. 22nd with a full moon Nov 23rd
      With the full moon on Oct. 22nd and a second full moon after the fall equinox, (the rutting moon) normally implies that the rut should be normal or early this year.

      Hope that help and good hunting
