MNR News release

An Asphodel-Norwood man has been fined a total of $2500 for a number of deer hunting offences.
After pleading guilty to all charges, George Christopoulos was fined $1000 for unlawfully hunting an antlerless deer without a licence, $500 for unlawfully attaching a game seal to an antlerless deer, and $1000 for unlawfully possessing illegally killed wildlife.
The court heard that on December 7, 2011, in the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen in Peterborough County, Christopoulos shot an antlerless white-tailed deer while hunting during the muzzleloader season. He did not possess a valid licence to harvest an antlerless deer in that wildlife management unit. He instead attached a game seal valid for a different wildlife management unit to the deer and transported it to his home.
Justice of the Peace Peter Hiscox heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, in
Peterborough, on February 9, 2012.
